MFA uses a one-of-a-kind implementation model that features a collection of coping skills to improve an individual’s emotional responses and ability to adapt in times of adversity. The Building Blocks of Mental Fitness© are promoted and shared through the Redefining Normal Outreach Initiative and Mindset Development Workshops provided by Mental Fitness America.
While each coping skill has been verified and approved by the mental health industry, the Mindset Activities that are used to practice The Building Blocks of Mental Fitness© do not require an intense understanding of cognitive or behavioral psychology. They are designed to be used by anyone, anywhere, and at any time as a tool for reducing stress, making healthy choices, and developing positive relationships.
Each Mindset Activity focuses on one of the ten building blocks, or coping skills, which can be used either individually or in a group setting and are appropriate for use by both children and adults. This multi-generational approach is ideal for counselors, corporate leaders, teachers, coaches, and other adults who have the opportunity to improve the emotional well-being of others in a group setting or individually. Mindset activities are easily incorporated into daily situations to encourage healthy communication and behavior.
