Mental Fitness America focuses on prevention and leaves intervention to the industry experts. To ensure all workshops and resources available meet the critical mental health needs throughout our nation, our team seeks guidance and approval from some of the nation’s leading medical and mental health professionals, many of whom serve as members of our National Advisory Council.
While many individuals engaged in our organization work in the mental health industry, Mental Fitness America, its affiliates, and representatives do not provide professional mental health care, therapy, counseling, intervention, or treatment of emotional or behavioral disorders.
Our position in the community is to encourage healthy emotional expression and to share basic coping skills proven to be successful for managing emotions and behaviors associated with everyday life and its unexpected challenges.
Although these skills may be beneficial to an individual experiencing an emotional or behavioral disorder, they are not intended to serve as a substitute for someone in need of professional mental health care or currently being treated by a medical or mental health professional.
Workshops, resources, activities and other initiatives provided by MFA are not intended to serve as a substitute for someone in need of professional mental health care or currently being treated by a medical or mental health professional.
